We have heard from Albertans through the Alberta Forest Usage Survey (see side bar for results) that they want to know more about the boreal forest and what impact the forest industry is having on the environment. Several forest products companies (Weyerhaeuser Company Limited, Canfor Corporation, West Fraser, Millar Western Forest Products Ltd, Tolko Industries Ltd, and the Alberta Forest Products Association) have formed a partnership project to meet that need. Funding has been provided by the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta (FRIAA).
In addition to this website, throughout the past two years commercials have been aired on CFRN television and at Ciniplex movie theatres across the province (see left column to view), ads have appeared in newspapers (see ad on this page) and Alberta based magazines, and a DVD and teacher's guide

have been developed for grade six classrooms.
